Carnivals Galore!

Back in the swing of things! This week I participated in FOUR carnivals. Very exciting stuff! In order of appearance:

The Carnival of Debt Reduction #116 at Blogging Away Debt. My post on my Minimum Payments Gone Haywire was included. Others I enjoyed were:

• Journey to Financial Freedom has 8 Debt Signals to let you know how serious your debt is. I wish I have never had any of those signals, but a few look familiar!

• Moolanomy posted 7 Steps Debt Reduction Illustrated. I the pictures, they tell the story very well.

Debt Consolidation Lowdown posted the Carnival for Debt Management #31, and my post on What I'm Financially Thankful For was a part of it! My picks are:

• Verve Coaching posted Five Tips to Improve Your Credit Score. I'm going to follow these!

• My Money Thinks posted some Outside the Box Holiday Gifts -way better than getting generic presents.
  

Next up is the Festival of Frugality #102 at Lazy Man and Money. One of my favorite festivals at one of my favorite blogs :). My thoughts on Leftovers Gone Wrong were included, along with these other great posts:

• Free Money Finance posted the 10 Most Hated Money Saving Tips - and I only hate one of them! For the nosy people, it's the one about pets. The rest I either do now or plan to sometime in the future.

• My Money and My Life has a few ideas for Fun & Inexpensive Christmas Gifts.

Last but not least, Loonies and Sense posted the 37th Carnival of Money Stories. My Commission Backslide tale of woe was included along with:

• Watch me Become a Millionaire posted about saving money by making Coffee at Home. I love doing this, especially with a little special creamer.

• A Penny Closer has a fantastically written story on his First Debt. He has a new subscriber in me!

Carnival Delight

Gonna grab my laptop, gonna hold on tight, gonna get me some carnival delight. When you see these posts you know somethings right, they will keep you reading into the night.

This week I participated in 2 Carnivals! The first is the Carnival of Debt Management #30, hosted at Debt Consolidation Lowdown. I'm a little late on this one, as it was posted on Thanksgiving. My post on getting All Fired Up to pay off debt was included. My other favorites are:

• Is it Wise to Consolidate Student Loans? at Whale Hook Loans. I don't talk about our student loans much because the make me want to throw up. I really need to take another look at them.

• The Wealthy Create Luck at Watson Inc. I take this one step further and believe that there is no such thing as luck, and that we each control our own futures.

• Freezer Cookin' and Pantry Eatin' at Dandelions and Daydreams. I have a post about cooking from food you have in the works, and though my meal didn't turn out so well, it's a great challenge.

Moving on to the Festival of Frugality 102, which was posted at Cheap Healthy Good and featured a sweet little mix tape theme. Ah, mix tapes. Remember having to listen to the radio and try to push the play and record buttons at the exact same time without catching any of the DJ blabbing in the background nor missing the beginning of your favorite song? Good times. My post on Black Friday Shopping Karma was included, and here are my picks:

• Reducing the Grocery Budget at Lightening. Great post, and always a personal goal of mine. This is the first post in a series, so be sure to check back.
  

• Be organized be Frugal at Frugal Journey. I think everyone has an example of how being disorganized has cost them money. Here are some trouble spots to help prevent that.
  

• Lazy Man just returned from his honeymoon and teaches us how to Save Money in Aruba. I'm not sure I believe all these tips... maybe I'll have to test them personally. ;)

• Comp Gifts posted 5 Cheap Date Ideas. I think I'll have to try some of these!

CarnivalFest!

Guten Tag! This is a little late, but the carnivals for the week are up. I was pretty ambitious and participated in FOUR carnivals this week!

The Carnival of Debt Management was posted at Debt Consolidation Lowdown. I love this carnival because it reminds me that I'm not alone. There are (apparently) lots of other people out there who are obsessed with getting rid of their debt as well. My post on Why I'm Creating an Emergency Fund was include in the carnival. (Update on that soon!) Other posts I enjoyed include:

• Kim Staudenraus talks about setting a Debt Free Goal. As you all know, I talk about my debt excessively, so I at least follow her advice :).
• On a similar vein, Watson talks about Two Financial Questions you Should ask your Friends. Hint: they have to do with financial goals.
• Christian PF asks Do I need an Emergency Fund? The answer, of course, is YES!

Next up is the Festival of Frugality hosted by My Retirement Blog. I love being frugal. Love love love it. My post on being Emotionally Frugal was included in the festival. I get lots of ideas from this festival; here are some from this week:

• Frugal Law Student gives us 27 Ways to Save Money on Food
• The Free Geek wrote 10 Ways to Drink on a Dime. My favorite is #3: Attend a Wake.
• Money Blue Book wrote about The 3,000 Mile Oil Change Myth. Eeeenteresting. I will be checking my manuals tonight.
  

Moneymonk posted the Carnival of Money Stories, and my post on The Worst Financial Mistake I Ever Made was included. My picks from this carnival are:

• Free Money Finance details the recent family trip to Disney. Man, I love Disney - next time we go, I'll be sure to grab the book he used.
• Queercents posted about Programmable Thermostats. I love ours, but 68 degrees? Are you kidding? The highest mine gets is 62.
• The Baglady asks What do Women Really Want Men to Spend on Them?

Finally, Ask Mr. Credit Card posted the Carnival of Personal Finance. I actually submitted my article last week on Monopoly (late) and forgot about it, but it automatically forwarded to this week!

• How I Will be Rich writes about Starting a Business.
  
• PaidTwice details how to make a Budget you can Stick to.
• Kyle at Rather be Shopping wrote what he's learned about money from his Dad. I think we can all learn from Kyle's Dad.
• Moneyning discusses Feeling Guilty to Spend Money on Anything. I can relate.
